Andover, MA who will be attending an institute of higher learning or has chosen to enlist for active service in the
military. The criteria for participation in this offer are straight forward and detailed below. Preferential consideration
may be given to applicants from military families.
The decision for selection will be based on completeness of all information requested, community service, scholastic
history and future goals. Successful candidates may be asked to appear in person before the Scholarship Committee.
The decision for scholarship award will be based solely on the American Legion Post 8 Scholarship Committee.ton, D.C.

Members of our Post 8 Honor Guard presented Colors for Merrimack College's Veterans Day hockey game: Merrimack vs. University of Maine. As well as it being on Veteran's day, it was also Merrimack College Military Appreciation Day. This is the second year Post 8 has been invited to present the colors.
Andover Legion Post 8 Poppy Drive

After World War I, the poppy flourished in Europe. Scientists attributed the growth to soils in France and Belgium becoming enriched with lime from the rubble left by the war. From the dirt and mud grew a beautiful red poppy. The red poppy came to symbolize the blood shed during battle. Two times a year, the members of the Andover MA Amer

From the dirt and mud grew a beautiful red poppy. The red poppy came to symbolize the blood shed during battle. Two times a year, the members of the Andover MA American Legion Post 8 hold Poppy Drives. 100% of the donations received will be used by The Andover Legion for our programs that support veterans, the military community and their families.

Post 8 members and members of the Andover community spent the morning replacing flags at the graves for all Veterans laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery

- Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month September through June.
- Unless planned otherwise the meetings are held in the Recreation Room of the Robb Center, 30 Whittier Ct, Andover, MA 01810
- Meetings begin promptly at 6 PM commencing with the Pledge of Allegiance
